Tile roofs: replace or “lift and relay”?

Clay and concrete tile can last far longer than the underlayment beneath it. If your tiles are in good shape, we may be able to remove them, install new underlayment and flashing, and reinstall your existing tile. Your home keeps its look, and you pay less than you would for new tile. If the new tile weighs more than 7 pounds per square foot or more than your current roof, the city may require structural calculations; we’ll flag that early. Our tile roof underlayment guide explains how to decide.

Planning a color or material change?

In Calabasas, a change in roof material color can require a zoning clearance, and many HOAs require approval. Read our Calabasas roof permit guide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most homes take several days to two weeks depending on size, material, weather, and inspections. Your proposal includes a project-specific schedule.

Do I need to be home during the replacement?

No, but we’ll walk through the plan with you first, and your project lead stays in touch throughout. Expect noise during tear-off and protect fragile items in the attic and on walls.
